Lagos Lawyer Olasubomi Osinusi Faces Forgery Charges

Olasubomi Osinusi, a Lagos lawyer, is currently on trial for alleged forgery amounting to $6.52 million. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) submitted fresh documentary evidence against Osinusi at the Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos, presided over by Justice Mojisola Dada.

The prosecution, led by Abba Moham, presented testimony from their first witness, Umar Hussain Babangida, who detailed the investigation process. Babangida stated that Osinusi received an email on November 6, 2015, containing documents, including a sworn statement purportedly signed by Dan Jafaru Moham.

The email was originally sent by Fahim Nasim Emenik on October 29, 2015, requesting Osinusi to prepare a letter related to a litigation involving the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in the UK High Court. The prosecution sought to tender the documents as evidence, but defense counsel D.S.
