Coalition Seeks Tinubu's Help Against Alleged Land Grabbing

The Coalition of Real Estate Developers has formally petitioned President Bola Tinubu and the National Assembly, seeking intervention regarding alleged land grabbing and administrative inefficiencies attributed to Oyetund Ojo, the Managing Director/CEO of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA). The coalition claims that Ojo's tenure has resulted in substantial financial losses and stagnation of multi-billion-naira projects due to ongoing court cases and delays in land development approvals.

They allege that land grabbers are encroaching on legally acquired land, causing further complications and financial pressure from bank loans. The coalition emphasizes the need for a probe into Ojo's actions and the FHA's operations.

In response, Kenneth Chigelu, the FHA's Head of Public Affairs, denied the allegations, asserting that the FHA has not engaged in land grabbing and criticized the coalition for making unsubstantiated claims. The situation highlights significant challenges in Nigeria's real estate sector, particularly regarding land acquisition and development processes.
