Oduah Enters Plea Bargain in N2.4bn Fraud Case

Stella Oduah, the former Minister of Aviation, alongside another defendant, has approached the Abuja High Court regarding a plea bargain deal related to an alleged N2.4 billion fraud case. The Director of Public Prosecutions, Rotimi Oyedepo, informed the court that the defendants are willing to refund a certain amount to the government.

The court was told that a bank draft confirming the receipt of the refund would be provided. Oduah's counsel, Onyechi Ikpeazu, confirmed the plea deal, while the second defendant's counsel also acknowledged the agreement.

Justice Hamza Muazu adjourned the matter until March 26, 2025, to allow further discussions on the plea bargain agreement, which was reported to the court on February 12. Oduah was arraigned in December 2025 on five counts of fraud, including obtaining money under false pretenses and breaching trust, with allegations of conspiracy to defraud the Federal Ministry of Aviation and other entities.
