Bode George: Wike's Alleged Plot Against PDP Will Fail

Bode George, the former Deputy National Chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), declared on Monday that an alleged plot to use Nyesom Wike to destroy the PDP ahead of the 2027 general elections will fail. Speaking in Lagos, George criticized the APC's attempts to destabilize the PDP, likening Wike's situation to a biblical reference of Jacob and Esau, suggesting that Wike has made a significant mistake.

He pointed out that Wike is no longer a member of the PDP, having been expelled during a convention in Ibadan last November. George asserted that the APC is behind every crisis affecting political parties and expressed that they do not want the PDP to field a presidential candidate against Bola Tinubu in 2027.

He emphasized that Wike's leadership of a faction of the PDP does not hold legitimacy, as he has been expelled and cannot claim to represent the party.
