Bode George Warns of Political Crisis Over Wike's Actions

Bode George, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), reacted to Nyesom Wike's alleged influence in the selection of governorship candidates for both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and PDP in Rivers State. Speaking during an interview on Arise Television, George described the situation as troubling and warned that it could destabilize the PDP and the political environment in the country if not addressed.

He recalled a recent court appeal in Ibadan that directed aggrieved party members to resolve internal crises, which was later upheld by the Supreme Court, leading to the suspension of three members of the PDP's National Working Committee. George questioned why individuals affected by these decisions did not accept the apex court's ruling and urged President Bola Tinubu to caution Wike, whom he accused of acting as an agent provocateur.

He warned that if the situation is not handled carefully, it could trigger a wider political crisis.
