Nigerian Regulator Seals Fuel Station in Uyo Over Alleged Product Diversion

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) sealed a filling station owned by Mr. Godwin Ekpo, Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Petroleum Product Monitoring Committee, in Uyo.

This action followed surveillance operations that led to the closure of four filling stations in Uyo for various infractions. Mr.

Ikechukwu Eseka, the State Coordinator of NMDPRA, stated that Ekpo's station was operating without a valid license and engaging in the illegal sale of premium motor spirit. The sealed stations will remain closed until compliance with regulations and payment of prescribed fines to the federal government.
