Trial of Alhaji Haruna Abdullahi Stalled After Collapse

The trial of Alhaji Haruna Abdullahi, the third defendant in the alleged Yelwata massacre case, was interrupted when he slumped in court before the proceedings commenced. Justice Joyc Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja presided over the case, which involves allegations of a terror attack on June 13, 2025, in Yelwata, where 150 people were reportedly massacred and others injured.

Following Abdullahi's collapse, prison officials attempted to revive him, but he remained unresponsive when the court resumed. Prosecuting counsel Rotimi Oyedepo SAN informed the court about Abdullahi's serious health issues, leading to a request for an adjournment to allow for medical attention.

The court granted the request, adjourning the trial until March 30-31. Other defendants in the case include Lawal Dono, Muhammadu Said, Haruna Abdullahi, Yakubu Adamu, Musa Moh, Abubakar Adamu, Shaibu Ibrahim, Sale Moh, and Bako Jibrin Nan.
