Alumni Enhance Maternal Healthcare at Ogun Hospital

The North American Chapter of Sacred Heart School of Nursing and Midwifery undertook a renovation project for the antenatal clinic at Sacred Heart Hospital in Lantoro, Abeokuta, Ogun State. This initiative, described by global alumni president Taiwo Akinboboy as a commitment to safeguarding maternal and child health, aims to enhance patient experience and create a dignified environment for care.

Oyinlola Talabi, president of the North American chapter, emphasized the importance of restoring trust in local healthcare delivery and promoting safer pregnancies. Former president of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, Abdulrafiu Adeniji, highlighted the need for collaboration and funding for similar healthcare projects.

Gregori Arifalo, the hospital's chief medical director, commended the donors for addressing the infrastructural deficit of the 130-year-old institution. The renovation included structural upgrades and the donation of medical equipment, laptops, ceiling fans, and diagnostic tools.
