Atletico Madrid's director of football, Mateu Alemany, reiterated the club's firm stance against negotiating Alvarez's departure to Barcelona, stating, “The club has been very clear and very firm.” Chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin also emphasized on Thursday that Atletico would “not negotiate with Barcelona under any circumstances.” Reports suggest that a potential move to England could be an alternative for Alvarez, but he has expressed a desire to leave Atletico.
