Atletico Madrid Allows Julian Alvarez to Discuss Barcelona Move

Atletico Madrid has allegedly granted Julian Alvarez written permission to engage in discussions with Barcelona about a potential transfer. Despite this, Atletico Madrid has officially stated that Alvarez would not be sold to the Catalan club.

Journalist Jordi Jota reported that he has seen a document confirming this authorization, which allows Alvarez to explore the Barcelona option. The only condition set by Atletico Madrid was that Alvarez could discuss the matter.

This revelation may surprise Barcelona, as they believed a bid was impossible due to concerns about strengthening a rival in La Liga. Although Barcelona's primary interest in Alvarez appeared to have waned following this confirmation, they have not entirely abandoned their pursuit and could make a bid in the January transfer window.

Initially, Barcelona thought a summer bid was unfeasible due to financial constraints, but the situation may change in winter if the document's authenticity is confirmed.
