Julian Alvarez, the striker for Atletico Madrid, was absent from training on Wednesday morning due to illness, as reported by Marca. The Argentina international faced booing from Atletico fans last weekend, which coincided with his ongoing desire to transfer to Barcelona.

However, Atletico Madrid's management is resolute in not selling Alvarez to their LaLiga rivals and would prefer to conduct business with Arsenal instead. Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed on X that Alvarez's absence is due to feeling unwell and noted that Arsenal remains attentive to the situation should Alvarez decide to consider a move.

So far, Alvarez has only indicated Barcelona as his preferred destination.
