Amaechi Addresses Abuse from Obi's Supporters for Peace

Rotimi Amaechi, the former governor of Rivers State and a candidate for the 2023 presidential primaries under the All Progressives Congress (APC), spoke at a town hall meeting in Lagos. He addressed the abuse he receives from supporters of Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate, stating that he refrains from responding to maintain peace.

Amaechi warned that online hostility among party supporters could undermine unity and make it difficult to defeat Bola Tinubu in the upcoming elections. He urged supporters to focus on collaboration rather than conflict, emphasizing that he has been instructed not to engage in verbal attacks.

Amaechi also compared his record as a governor to that of Obi, asserting that his tenure was more effective. He highlighted his hands-on approach to infrastructure projects and encouraged unity among opposition parties to strengthen their chances against Tinubu in the 2023 elections.
