Amas Obasogie Cleared of Match-Fixing Allegations

Amas Obasogie, the Super Eagles goalkeeper, was cleared of match-fixing allegations by his club, Singida Black Star SC, following an internal investigation. The club's Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Kassano, announced the findings in an official statement.

Concerns had been raised regarding Obasogie's performance during recent matches, particularly during a CAF Confederation Cup fixture against Flambeau du Centre and a league match against Pamba Jiji FC. The club's disciplinary committee initiated a preliminary investigation due to suspicions surrounding the former Bendel Insurance goalkeeper.

However, after a thorough review, it was determined that there was no evidence linking Obasogie to any match-fixing incidents. The investigation revealed that the concerns were due to technical errors within the game.

Following this outcome, Singida Black Star SC announced the reversal of Obasogie's three-month suspension, allowing him to continue his duties with the team. This decision has been a significant relief for the goalkeeper, whose reputation was under scrutiny during the investigation.
