Obasogie Cleared of Match-Fixing Allegations in Tanzania

Obasogie, a goalkeeper for Bendel Insurance, was cleared of match-fixing and gambling allegations following a preliminary investigation conducted by the club. The investigation, which was prompted by a series of errors during a match, concluded that there was no evidence of match-fixing.

Jonathan Kassano, the club's CEO, released a statement confirming the findings, which indicated that the suspicions surrounding Obasogie were due to technical errors within the game. As a result, the club decided to reverse Obasogie's three-month suspension, allowing him to return to the team.

The goalkeeper expressed his apologies for his poor performance during the period of scrutiny. Obasogie, who previously captained Bendel Insurance, is now reinstated and will continue his duties with the team as they move forward in the Ethiopian league.
