Amusan and Chukwuma Win Gold for Nigeria at Championships

Tobi Amusan, the world record holder, won gold in the 100m hurdles at the African Senior Championships, held at the Sport Stadium in Ghana on Wednesday. This victory marked her third consecutive gold in the event and her sixth gold overall in the championship's history.

Amusan finished the race decisively, with compatriot Adaobi Tabugbo claiming the bronze medal. Chukwuma also celebrated a historic achievement by winning gold in the 100m dash, becoming the first athlete to secure gold in this event at the championship.

She successfully held off competitors from Cameroon and Liberia, ensuring Nigeria's continued dominance in the women's 100m event. Chukwuma's victory adds her to an elite group of African athletes who have won gold in the 100m sprint across youth, junior, and senior categories.

Nigeria has so far won four medals, including silver and bronze, at the ongoing African Senior Athletics Championship.
