Anambra Assembly Confirms 18 Commissioner Nominees

On May 5, 2023, the Anambra State House of Assembly confirmed 18 commissioner nominees submitted by Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.

The nominees include Ben Odoemena for Agriculture, Chukwukadibia Okoy for Budget and Economic Planning, Udoji Amedu for Culture, Entertainment, and Tourism, and Eken Ogugua for Education, among others. The assembly's screening committee, led by Nobl Igw from Ogbaru 1 constituency, presented the nominees for confirmation.

Speaker Somtochukwu Udez emphasized the importance of the new commissioners assuming their leadership responsibilities and working together to ensure Anambra becomes a destination hub. Law Mefor, representing the Ministry of Justice, thanked the lawmakers and assured that the new appointees would not disappoint the people of the state.

This confirmation marks a significant step in the state's governance as the new commissioners prepare to take office.
