Anambra CP Orders Manhunt After Deadly Police Attack

Anambra State Police Commissioner Ikioy Orutugu led a combined team from the Anambra State Police Command and the Agunechemba Security Squad to the scene of a deadly attack on Sunday night. The attack, which occurred along the Amansea-Ndiokwuenu-Awa-Ufuma road, resulted in the deaths of two policemen and two civilians, raising the death toll to four.

The incident took place during a convoy visit by Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, and was investigated by Chief Ben Nwankwo. Following the attack, Orutugu conducted a spot assessment of the crime scene and ordered a full-scale manhunt for the attackers, deploying specialized forensic assets to track them.

He reprimanded a local councillor for allegedly allowing criminal elements to operate without alerting security agencies. The Agunechemba Security Squad confirmed the attackers used a white jeep and operated in a guerrilla style, making it difficult for law enforcement to respond effectively.
