Gunmen Kill Two Police Officers in Anambra Ambush

Two police officers were killed in Anambra State during an ambush on Sunday night while returning from an assignment involving Chief Ben Nwankwo, Chief of Staff to Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.

The attack occurred along the Amansea-Ndiora-Ndiukwuenu-Awa Ufuma road in Orumba South Local Government Area. Eyewitnesses reported that the officers were shot during a gun duel that lasted several minutes, causing panic in the area.

The Anambra State Police Command, led by CP Ikoy Orutugu, confirmed the incident and stated that investigations are underway to apprehend the attackers. The police have urged the public to exercise caution, especially along the Amansea-Ufuma road, which has become a hotspot for criminal activities.

The command reassured residents of its commitment to ensuring safety and promised significant breakthroughs in the investigation within the next 48 hours.
