Anambra Commission Promises Improved Electricity Services

The Anambra State Electricity Regulatory Commission (ASERC), represented by Managing Director Prof. Frank Okafor, held a town hall meeting at Umunem Civic Centre in Nnewi, where he assured residents of improved electricity service delivery.

The commission called for stronger collaboration between electricity distribution companies and consumers to tackle ongoing power supply challenges. Okafor emphasized the importance of a better relationship with distribution companies to enhance power reliability.

He highlighted the commission's focus on developing the state's emerging electricity market and the need for public consultation to address issues such as energy theft and estimated billing. The ASERC, established under the Anambra State Electricity Law of 2025, aims to oversee the development of the electricity market, ensure quality service delivery, and encourage investment in critical infrastructure.
