Anambra Manufacturers Call for Gas-Based Energy Solutions

Manufacturers in Anambra State, represented by Dr. Ada Chukwudozi, Chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, are lamenting the high costs associated with diesel fuel for power generation.

During a forum organized with energy stakeholders, including Shell Nigeria and SNG Limited, Chukwudozi highlighted the necessity of transitioning to gas-based energy solutions to foster sustainable industrial growth. She noted that the cost of reliable energy directly impacts factory operations, determining whether they expand, stagnate, or shut down.

The collaboration among energy providers, government, and industry stakeholders is crucial to develop a reliable gas infrastructure and transparent pricing structures. Raph Gbobo, General Manager of SNG, reaffirmed the group's commitment to creating workable solutions, including displacing diesel and developing a scalable power market.

The event was attended by key government officials, including Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, Secretary to the State Government, emphasizing the importance of dialogue to translate policy aspirations into practical solutions for the manufacturing sector.
