Anambra Government Parades Native Doctor for Ritual Practices

The Anambra State Government has publicly presented John Paul Ezenagu, a native doctor based in Nnewi, over allegations of ritual practices that contravene the state's homeland security law. Ezenagu, popularly known as "Mmou Mmili Afulu Anya," is accused of enticing young individuals with promises of quick wealth and conducting rituals involving bathing in a stream behind his house.

Ken Emeakayi, the special adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on community security, stated that Ezenagu had previously been cautioned by authorities but allegedly continued his practices. Following preliminary investigations, the police are set to determine whether Ezenagu will face prosecution.

In a statement to the Anambra Broadcast Service, Ezenagu expressed remorse for his actions, claiming he was unaware of the legal violations and appealing to the state government and residents for forgiveness, promising not to repeat such acts.
