Anambra Government Closes Nkwo Ogb Market Over Sit-at-Home

The Anambra government has taken action by sealing the Nkwo Ogb Market located in the Ihiala Local Government Area after traders refused to open for business on Monday, which was a direct violation of the government's efforts to end the sit-at-home order. Mr. Anayochukwu Ojiako, the chairman of the Ihiala Local Government Council, confirmed the market's closure, stating that it would remain shut for one week.

Ojiako explained that the closure serves as a warning signal, emphasizing that the government has done everything within its power to ensure compliance with the directive to end the sit-at-home order. While other markets, such as Nkwo Okija, Uzoigwem, and Agbagba, remained open for commercial activities on Monday, Nkwo Ogb Market's traders ignored pleas from market leaders to commence business transactions.

The government aims to enforce compliance and discourage further defiance of its directives.
