Anayochukwu Ojiako, the chairman of the Ihiala Local Government Council, confirmed the market's closure, stating that it would remain shut for one week. Ojiako explained that the closure serves as a warning signal, emphasizing that the government has done everything within its power to ensure compliance with the directive to end the sit-at-home order.

While other markets, such as Nkwo Okija, Uzoigwem, and Agbagba, remained open for commercial activities on Monday, Nkwo Ogb Market's traders ignored pleas from market leaders to commence business transactions. The government aims to enforce compliance and discourage further defiance of its directives.
