Anambra Leaders Reject Stella Oduah's Senate Candidacy

Leaders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra have opposed Stella Oduah's candidacy for the Senate in the 2027 general elections. Their concerns stem from a recent court ruling involving Oduah, who was implicated in a N2.5 billion fraud case.

The Federal Capital Territory High Court ordered the forfeiture of N2 billion to the federal government and raised issues regarding discrepancies in her academic records. Oduah, a former aviation minister, has been accused of providing false statements to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in her candidacy declarations for the 2015, 2019, and 2023 elections.

Professor Charles Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, has urged party leaders to prevent Oduah from receiving the party's ticket, citing unresolved questions about her credibility. The leaders have emphasized the need for strict documentary proof regarding her qualifications, particularly concerning her primary school attendance certificate.
