Anambra's Gas Transition: A Game-Changer for Industry

Ladi Adaora Chukwudozi, chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria for the Southeast region, praised Anambra State's shift from diesel to gas as a transformative industrial strategy during an energy stakeholders forum held in Awka, Anambra State. The forum, co-hosted by the Anambra State government and Shell Nigeria, focused on bridging the energy gap in manufacturing.

Chukwudozi expressed confidence that this transition would benefit the vibrant industrial clusters in Nnewi, Onitsha, Awka, and Nkpor. She highlighted that reliable energy costs directly influence manufacturing competitiveness, emphasizing the need for collaboration among energy providers, Shell, and government stakeholders.

The initiative aims to create a robust gas infrastructure and transparent pricing to encourage manufacturers, particularly SMEs, to embrace this transition. Anambra State Governor Julius Chukwuemeka reaffirmed the government's commitment to delivering reliable and affordable clean power, which is crucial for stimulating industrial growth.

Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu identified energy constraints and infrastructural gaps as challenges facing industrialization in the state.
