Urgent Call for Energy Emergency in Anambra State

Prof. Osita Umeononihu, an obstetrician gynecologist at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital in Nnewi, has called on Governor Charles Soludo to declare a state of emergency in the energy sector of Anambra State.

Umeononihu highlighted that the power supply situation has deteriorated significantly, with residents experiencing less than ten hours of electricity per month over the past three months. He described energy as the bedrock of business enterprises and expressed concern that the ongoing power failures threaten the survival of many people.

He urged Governor Soludo to take necessary steps to address the alarming trend and improve the power supply situation in the state.
