Anambra State Plans 35th Anniversary with Growth Agenda

The Anambra State Government is preparing to mark its 35th anniversary on Thursday, August 27, 2026, with a focus on environmental sustainability, economic growth, and urban renewal. The anniversary will include a tree-planting campaign and a media chat with Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

These activities were decided during the 10th meeting of the Anambra State Executive Council in Soludo’s second term, held at the Light House in Awka. Dr. Law Mefor, the Commissioner for Information and Value Reorientation, emphasized the importance of sustainable environmental management for economic growth and quality of life.

The council also approved a regulatory framework for cooperative societies to enhance their operational standards and contributions to economic development. Additionally, the council reviewed the Anambra Aerotropolis project, aimed at creating an export-oriented economic gateway, and expressed satisfaction with the ongoing regeneration of markets, particularly the Onitsha Main Market, as part of efforts to modernize urban areas.
