Anambra State Recovers 10 Oil Wells from Delta State

Anambra State has reclaimed 10 oil wells located around the Anambra River Basin from Delta State, as disclosed by Charl Ofoegbu, the Chairman of the Anambra State Petroleum Energy Resources Limited, during a press briefing in Awka on Thursday. This recovery is part of Anambra's initiative to be fully recognized as one of Nigeria's oil-producing states by 2025, with an expected output of 3,000 barrels per day.

The oil wells, previously credited to Delta State due to a longstanding boundary dispute, will now contribute significantly to Anambra's revenue. The state government is also collaborating with foreign investors to establish a modular refinery in Ogbaru Local Government Area, which will produce petroleum diesel for Anambra and neighboring states.

Additionally, Anambra is working on developing a kaolin mine in Ukpor and a bentonite processing plant, which will further enhance the state's revenue from the oil sector. Governor Prof.
