Anambra's Onyinyechi Basil Crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025

Onyinyechi Basil from Anambra State emerged as the winner of Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 during the national beauty pageant's grand finale in Lagos. Basil surpassed 21 contestants to succeed the 2024 winner, Chidimma Adetishina.

The newly crowned queen expressed her desire to inspire young girls and celebrate Nigerian culture through her reign. Basil will represent Nigeria in the global Miss Universe 2025 competition.

The first runner-up was Miss Lagos Damilola Bolarinde, followed by Fortune Kurobo from Bayelsa as the second runner-up, and Irene Ikediashi from Ogun as the third runner-up. Basil's victory signifies her achievement in the beauty pageant world and her upcoming representation of Nigeria on the international stage.
