Kano State Appoints 19 New Permanent Secretaries

The Kano State Government has approved the appointment of 19 new permanent secretaries and the redeployment of 14 existing permanent secretaries across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies within the state civil service. This announcement was made by the Head of Civil Service, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu-Maimota, through a statement signed by Rukayya Uba-Sulaiman, the Director of Public Enlightenment at the Office of the Head of Civil Service, on Tuesday in Kano.

The appointments are intended to enhance responsibility and selfless service to the people of Kano State. The statement conveyed the approval of the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alh.

Abba Kabir Yusuf, for these changes, which follow the recent elevation of deserving Directors to the position of Permanent Secretaries. The aim is to strengthen the government machinery for effective service delivery.

The new appointments take immediate effect, with all handover processes expected to be completed by Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
