ANOCA President Commends Tinubu, Plans 2027 Sports Event

Mustafa Berraf, President of the African National Olympic Committees (ANOCA), visited Nigeria and thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the ongoing reforms in the Nigerian sports sector. During the visit, Berraf announced that Nigeria will host the African School Sport in 2027 and emphasized the importance of collaboration between ANOCA and Nigeria.

He acknowledged the Nigerian government's efforts in building the ANOCA headquarters in Abuja at no cost and expressed a commitment to further sports collaborations. Berraf praised Nigeria's achievements in hosting international sports events and highlighted the recent approval for sports infrastructure development to enhance Nigeria's capacity to host tournaments.

Mallam Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission, conveyed goodwill messages from President Tinubu and recognized Berraf's support for Nigeria's sports interests. The meeting included discussions on the signing of the antidoping act and the establishment of a board for the Nigeria Antidoping Agency, marking a significant step in Nigeria's sports governance.
