Nigeria to Host CAF Awards and Ordinary Congress in 2023

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved Nigeria's hosting of the 48th CAF Awards and the CAF Ordinary Congress. The CAF Awards, which honor Africa's best football players, coaches, and teams, are set to take place in December this year.

The CAF Ordinary Congress will occur earlier in October. The announcement was made during the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, where Tinubu met with CAF President Dr.

Patrice Motsepe. Key Nigerian figures present included the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu, and the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Musa Gusau.

The CAF Awards are a prestigious event that celebrates the best performances in African football, with past winners including notable players such as Rashidi Yekini, Emmanuel Amuneke, Kanu Nwankwo, Victor Osimhen, and Asisat Oshoala. The Ordinary Congress will bring together leaders from CAF's 54 member associations and senior football officials from across the continent.
