Armed Herdsmen Kill 10 in Benue State Attack

On Sunday, an attack by armed herdsmen in Ankpa, Agatu Local Government Area, Benue State, left at least ten people dead and several others missing. The incident has caused significant property destruction and displaced local residents.

Titus Och Ojobo described the attack as devastating, noting that it has renewed fear and uncertainty among the community. Former Deputy Chairman of Agatu LGA, John Ikulono, confirmed that nine individuals were killed while returning from their farms.

Chief Pst Ojotu Ojema, a member of the House Committee on National Inland Waterways, condemned the attack, labeling the killings as barbaric and senseless. He expressed deep sorrow for the victims' families and called for urgent action from security agencies to prevent further violence.

Ojema urged the federal government to intensify efforts to address the root causes of insecurity in Benue State and ensure that perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice.
