Anthony Joshua Reunites with First Coach After Crash

Anthony Joshua, the 36-year-old British-Nigerian former heavyweight champion, has reunited with his first coach, Sean Murphy, at Finchley Amateur Boxing Club. This reunion comes after Joshua survived a tragic car crash in Nigeria on December 29, which claimed the life of his trainer, Kevin Latz, and long-time therapist, Sina Ghami.

Following the accident, Joshua underwent intensive physical therapy to recover from rib injuries and has recently returned to training at Finchley, signaling his determination to rebuild his boxing career. Joshua shared a photo and video on Instagram, highlighting the quality time spent with Murphy, who first recognized Joshua's potential when he joined the club at age 18.

Under Murphy's guidance, Joshua developed his skills and won a national title, later achieving Olympic gold in 2012 with the support of Team GB head coach Rob McCracken. Joshua's professional journey has seen him change coaches multiple times, particularly after his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021.
