105 APC House Aspirants Disqualified in Kwara State

In Kwara State, 105 aspirants were disqualified by the All Progressives Congress (APC) as they sought tickets for the upcoming 2027 House of Assembly elections. The screening exercise, conducted last Tuesday at the APC secretariat in Ilorin, involved 158 aspirants.

Of these, only 53 were cleared to proceed in the race for the House of Assembly. Notably, several incumbents, including Hon.

Ganiyu Folabi Salahu and Hon. Owolabi Olatund Rasaq, failed to secure clearance.

The situation was particularly challenging in the Kwara South district, where multiple lawmakers were affected. Meanwhile, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon.

Ojo Olayiwola Oyebod, successfully cleared the screening. The screening committee, chaired by Prof.

Success Musa, noted that the high number of aspirants reflects the growing popularity of the APC in the state. The current House of Assembly comprises 24 members representing 16 local government areas.
