APC Revises 2027 Election Timetable Amid Hijack Claims

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has updated its timetable for the 2027 general elections, now including account details for aspirants wishing to purchase nomination forms. This revision comes amid allegations that certain governors are attempting to bulk purchase these forms, particularly for the gubernatorial primaries.

The presidential primary is set for May 23, 2026, while the governorship primaries are scheduled for May 20, 2026. Other primaries include the state house of assembly on May 20, the senatorial primaries on May 18, and the house of representatives on May 15, 2026.

The chairman of the Progress Governor Forum, who is also the governor of Imo State, declined to comment on the allegations. However, Oguwik Nwachuku, the chief press secretary to the governor, assured that the APC would conduct transparent and credible primaries.

Duro Meseko, the deputy national public secretary of the APC, dismissed claims that the nomination forms would be restricted to select individuals.
