APC Names Abba Kabir Yusuf as Kano Governorship Candidate

The All Progressives Congress (APC) officially adopted Abba Kabir Yusuf as its governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections in Kano State. This decision was affirmed during a significant event held at Sani Abacha Stadium in Kofar Mata, which saw a large turnout of party supporters despite heavy rain.

The event included prominent attendees such as members of the National Assembly and top government officials. Muntari Shagari, the chairman of the APC governorship primary election committee, declared that Abba Kabir Yusuf had satisfied the constitutional requirements to be the sole candidate for the Kano governorship election in 2027.

The motion to adopt Yusuf was moved by Senator Barau Jibrin representing Kano North and was seconded by Senator Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila from Kano South. Yusuf expressed gratitude to the delegates for their support and pledged to ensure a peaceful and successful electoral process, aiming to provide dividends of democracy if re-elected for a second term.
