Kano By-Election: APC's Test Ahead of 2027 Elections

Abba Yusuf, the Governor of Kano State, stated that the outcome of the by-election in Dawakin Kudu for the Warawa Federal Constituency serves as a significant test for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in preparation for the 2027 general elections. In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin Tofa, Yusuf noted that the voter turnout and peaceful conduct of the election demonstrate that the people continue to support the APC and its electoral programs.

He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting the election in a free, fair, and credible manner, reflecting the choices of the electorate. Yusuf also praised the security agencies for ensuring a peaceful atmosphere during the election.

He congratulated the APC candidate on their victory and urged the party to remain committed to effective representation. Furthermore, he criticized the New Democratic Congress for not fielding a candidate, suggesting it lacks grassroots structure, and reaffirmed his administration's commitment to delivering people-oriented projects across Kano.
