The party acknowledged the error after facing public backlash across social media in Cross River State.

The statement, signed by the state public secretary Emmanuel Edem Inyang, confirmed the withdrawal of the names from the list and expressed regret for any inconvenience caused. The meeting, set to take place at the Calabar International Convention Centre on February 16, 2026, has drawn criticism, particularly regarding the inclusion of non-partisan public officials and the credibility of the verification process for the invitation list.
