APC Asks INEC to Cancel Kano Bye-Election, Gives Reason

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called for the cancellation of the Ghari constituency rerun election in Kano State, citing widespread violence and disruption by armed thugs at polling units. The APC's publicity secretary, Felix Morka, stated that the violence in Shanono, Bagwai, and Ghari constituencies made a credible election impossible.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is organizing elections across 12 states in Nigeria to fill vacant seats in the national and state houses of assembly. The elections are being held following the death of an elected official and the appointment of a new role by Governor Monday Okpebholo and Deputy Dennis Idahosa in Edo State.

Additionally, a PDP agent was arrested in Kaduna for allegedly attempting to induce voters with a cash sum of N25 million. The elections took place on Saturday, August 16, in several states including Edo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Ogun, Oyo, Adam.
