Minister Accuses NNPP Of Hiring Thugs To Disrupt Kano Rerun Election, Demands Cancellation

The Minister representing the state's Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the NNPP of hiring thugs to disrupt the Kano rerun election. He demanded that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) cancel the election and declare the Bagwai-Shanono election null and void.

The Minister argued that despite a peace pact leading up to the election, the NNPP engaged in deliberate political brigandage, which reached a peak on election day. Despite early alerts and assurances from security agencies, including the Police and DSS, the situation spiraled out of control.

The Minister emphasized the importance of upholding the foundation of democracy, which includes the right of people to vote freely and safely for their chosen candidate.
