APC Wants Kano Bye-Election Cancelled, Alleges Violence, Disruption

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called for the cancellation of the Kano bye-election in Ghari Constituency, citing widespread violence and disruption. The party alleged that armed thugs caused chaos across several polling units, leading to voter intimidation and the deployment of overwhelmed security personnel.

The National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, stated that allowing the election to continue would endorse electoral violence and undermine the democratic process. The APC emphasized the importance of a free, fair, and peaceful election, urging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to cancel the rerun to protect the sanctity of the ballot and safeguard democracy in the country.

The party warned that proceeding with the election under such circumstances would set a dangerous precedent and constitute an unacceptable electoral heist.
