APC Aspirant Akinyomi Demands Fresh Ondo Reps Primary

Akinyomi, an aspirant from the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called for a fresh primary election for the Ondo State House of Representatives, asserting that the election held on May 16 was invalid. He expressed concerns about the integrity of the electoral process, stating that there was no actual election, as the exercise was conducted without the presence of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials or party representatives.

Akinyomi claimed that the announcement of a winner was made within a short time, leading to confusion among party members. He emphasized that the process undermined democratic values and disenfranchised numerous aspirants.

Akinyomi has submitted a formal petition to the APC National Working Committee (NWC) regarding the alleged irregularities and demanded a transparent electoral process. He warned that the current situation could weaken the party's cohesion ahead of the general elections and insisted that the leadership must address these grievances to restore credibility.
