Ekiti Rep Akinlayo Rejects APC Primary Election Results

Kolawole Akinlayo, representing Ekiti North Federal Constituency II, publicly rejected the results of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election held on Saturday. He described the election as a sham, asserting that no actual voting took place in his constituency, which includes Ido Osi, Moba, and Ilejemeje local government areas.

Akinlayo addressed newsmen in Ado Ekiti, stating that the electoral process was manipulated and lacked credibility, with no voters present despite people queuing from 8 AM until almost 11 AM. He claimed that officials took away result sheets and that the entire exercise was a disgrace to democracy.

Akinlayo emphasized the need for a fair and credible election, stating that he would pursue his grievances through the party leadership and advised supporters to remain calm and peaceful. He also mentioned that video evidence exists to support his claims regarding the electoral malpractice.
