APC Aspirant Akinyomi Petitions Tinubu Over Primary Issues

Princ Mondai Akinyomi, an aspirant for the Ilaje/Ese Odo Federal Constituency seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has formally petitioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu regarding alleged manipulation of the party's primary elections. The primary was scheduled for May 16, 2026, but Akinyomi claims that the process was compromised as the party officials assigned to conduct the exercise did not show up at the venue.

He expressed concerns that this situation undermines the integrity of the democratic process within the party, which professes to uphold democratic ideals. Akinyomi warned that if the issue is not addressed, it could discourage the Nigerian diaspora from participating in future political processes.

He urged President Tinubu to ensure justice and fair due process in the conduct of the primary elections, emphasizing the need to protect the integrity of the APC and Nigeria's democratic system.
