APC Promises Credible Congresses Amid PDP, NNPP Concerns

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has assured its members of credible ward congresses set for February 18, with a national convention scheduled for March 27-28. Bala Ibrahim, the APC Director of Publicity, expressed confidence that the process would reflect internal democracy and strengthen party unity while deepening grassroots participation.

However, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) have raised concerns about potential crises arising from the congresses. Ini Ememobong of the PDP and Oladipo Johnson of the NNPP warned that the exercise could expose fault lines within the ruling party.

Ibrahim responded to these claims, stating that the APC is fully prepared to conduct a peaceful and rancor-free exercise, emphasizing lessons learned from previous internal processes. The upcoming congresses are viewed as a significant test for the ruling party amid claims of defections and dissatisfaction with outcomes.
