APC Blames Governor Makinde for Oyo's Rising Insecurity

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has blamed Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for the increasing insecurity in the state, citing recent incidents of kidnapping and violent crime. In a statement issued by Olawal Sadar, the APC expressed regret that Makinde's administration has not adequately addressed these issues, attributing the situation to his "lip service" and "unhealthy political showmanship." The APC criticized Makinde for not appreciating that human life and freedom should not be used as political tools.

They highlighted the governor's failure to submit a memorandum for the creation of a state police force, despite previous discussions among governors. The APC also pointed out that Makinde's administration has spent nearly N8 billion on security measures without visible results, and they accused him of mismanaging the Amotekun corps, which is intended to enhance local security.

The party urged the federal government to empower state houses of assembly to facilitate the establishment of state police.
