Oyo APC Demands Makinde's Resignation Over Security Issues

The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) issued a statement on Sunday rejecting Governor Seyi Makinde's comments regarding the state's security situation, which they described as a misrepresentation of the constitutional responsibilities of the state governor. The APC criticized Makinde for his inability to tackle insecurity, labeling his remarks as evidence of "cluelessness, insincerity, and ineptitude." They demanded that he resign from office and allow his deputy to complete the remaining year of his tenure.

The party's statement came after Makinde renewed calls for the creation of a state police force following recent abductions in Oriir Local Government Area. The APC accused Makinde of hypocrisy and incompetence, stating that he had previously sworn to protect the lives and properties of the people without complaint until faced with serious challenges.

They emphasized that the people of Oyo State deserve a sincere and humble leader, asserting that Makinde's presidential ambitions are unrealistic given the current security situation.
