APC Postpones Adamawa Congresses for Fintiri's Defection

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the postponement of its state and local government ward congresses in Adamawa State. This decision was communicated in a letter dated February 17, 2026, addressed to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and signed by the party's national chairman, Prof.

Nentaw Yilwatda, and the national secretary, Ajibola Basiru. The postponement aims to provide Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri the opportunity to finalize his plans to defect from the APC to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the congress.

The new date for the congress will be communicated later, as the party seeks to ensure a smooth transition and maintain organizational integrity during this period of political change.
