APC Chairman Denies Coercing Civil Servants, Asserts Strong Support Base

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, refuted claims by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that the APC was compelling Nigerian civil servants to join the party. Yilwatda asserted that the APC's influence and appeal were strong, with notable figures defecting to the APC.

He denied any coercion of civil servants, stating that the APC's growth was based on voluntary support. The APC Chairman downplayed the political relevance of the ADC and highlighted the APC's numerical strength compared to the ADC.

Yilwatda also dismissed allegations of unsettling the opposition coalition, which includes prominent figures like Atiku Abubakar, Aminu Tambuwal, Peter Obi, and Rauf Aregbesola. He emphasized that the APC neither threatened nor acted out of desperation, relying on voluntary support rather than coercion.
