APC Chieftain Timi Frank Warns of INEC's Anti-Democracy Plot

Timi Frank, a former deputy national public secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has raised alarms regarding a perceived plot by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to weaken opposition parties in Nigeria, particularly in light of the upcoming 2027 general elections. Frank criticized INEC's decision not to recognize David Mark's leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), suggesting this move is part of a broader strategy to undermine political competition.

He expressed concerns about the increasing threats to Nigeria's democracy, noting that several opposition parties, including the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party, and others, are facing internal crises. Frank warned that the current political climate resembles the authoritarian tendencies of former military ruler General Sani Abacha.

He called for urgent action to defend democracy, urging the international community, particularly Donald Trump, to remain vigilant and support democratic values in Nigeria.
